I'M LEAVING YOU
So darlin',
You're out again.
You've been out again,
Since I don't know when.
So I'm leaving you- darlin',
You'll lose your man,
I'm leaving you- yes I am.
That caller on the phone,
Ain't me no more-
Ain't me no more-
Knockin' on your door-
'Cause I'm leaving you - darlin'
Yes I am.
So this is it-
I'm out the door.
My bags is packed,
I won't be back no more.
'Cause you hurt me.- and,
I'd rather die-
I'm leaving you, say goodbye,
I'm leaving you, don't you cry,
I'm leaving you,
Say goodbye.

NOTES
I had some interesting girlfriends during my dating years.
They were part of my inspiration for this song.
So glad those days are behind me & lucky
to have found my dear wife.
I also must have been trying to emulate Paul McCartney
on the Beatles song Oh! Darling
one of my favorites off the Abbey Road album.

I decided to rerecord this one just because it's
fun to play with it's modified blues progression
and bad grammar. Some, (bags is packed),
was accidental from the scratch vocal track
that I ended up keeping. In fact, I was going to
trash the whole thing & start over at one point.
There can always be a better take. But sometimes
I hate to mess with something if it's got a little magic.
And how much better does this really need to be?
It's mainly for me & its free!
I have learned the fine art of subtractive mixing
where I cover a flub with another instrument or
turn off a track entirely until the error passes.
Maybe it's cheating, maybe it keeps me from
driving myself crazy fixing stuff!
