Not Far Beyond the Dream, written in 1984, was my eightieth song & is part of
Archive V, which I'll release here later this year. The lyric structure was written in a loosely Haiku form. The original lyric, complete with misspelled words, (tethered) & recording with partial lyric, at first sung in the wrong key, are further below. I felt I needed to record a better version if I was going to feature it, so I made the video here.
What this song is trying to convey, through cryptic imagery, is if you don't use something,
in my case my music, you lose it. Like so many other people, I was starting to find it hard to pursue my dream while maintaining a day job, house & other responsibilities. Always
hopeful that just beyond my reality, I'd reach my dream. Here's to dreamers! for without
dreams, there's no hope for a brighter tomorrow. Keep fighting for yours!

Here's the version recorded in 1984.
Here's an earlier version, before any lyrics were written, with harmony vocalization ideas.
